CONTOURSERIES
Contour Series is a series of visual and audiovisual exhibitions and projects by arts centre nona. Run-through (2024), our first exhibition, took place as part of the city festival Construct Europe and brought together the work of Jelena Jureša and Aernout Mik. Conceived as a dialogue between six existing and new works by these artists, it offered a critical perspective on Europe while holding up a mirror to the consequences of our historical choices.
The second exhibition, scheduled for autumn 2025, is in the works. Meanwhile, Don't Take It Personally, Jelena Jureša's latest film, has entered its post-production phase. This is also art centre nona's second film production after yours,, which was part of C0N10UR in 2023. In addition, in February 2025, Contour Series will present the avant-premiere of Bandeko Basi, a documentary by filmmakers Paul Shemisi and Bie Michels that examines the position of women in Kinshasa, with a focus on how they fulfil both traditional and contemporary roles, especially in relation to female sexual identity.
