On 16 November and from 23 to 26 November, nona will once again realise jazz festival BRAND! The eighth edition once again puts the spotlight on versatile and vibrant Belgian jazz, combined with exclusive names from abroad. The first festival day will be coloured by top-class international jazz.

SUPERLESS (20:00)
Superless is an international monster quartet in a fascinating spread, with one leg resolutely in jazz history, while the other circles around post-rock and Messiaen.
The band was brought together by Øyvind Skarbø, the versatile Norwegian drummer who signed in 2021 for a smashing concert with his Skulekorps during BRAND! He once again gathered around him people who signed for some of the punkiest jazz punches of the past decades: saxophonist Eirek Hegdal (Trondheim Jazz Orchestra, Angles), bassist Ingebrigt Håker Flaten (Rodrigo Amado's The Bridge, The Thing) and guitarist Jeff Parker, a crucial figure within the Chicago scene, former member of post-rock legend Tortoise and a tireless catalyst of contemporary jazz. Together, they present their new album Superless!
LINDA FREDRIKSSON (21:30)
With Juniper, Linda Fredriksson created a sensation. Bands like Mopo and Superposition were already among the best jazz from Finland, but the latest album introduced a radically different sound. Power and energy were set aside for fragility and introspection, with a mix of repetitive elements and incantatory melodies full of barbs. Combining the meditative of Alice Coltrane and the intense of Eric Dolphy with the storytelling tradition of Sufjan Stevens and Neil Young? Fredriksson proves it can be done. Contemporary technology and hypnotic compositions blend harmoniously, with an incantatory sound taken to the next dimension live.
