BROEK 2024
FESTIVAL AT VRIJBROEKPARK
With sold-out and memorable performances by Voetvolk (the intoxicating Nomadics) and Abattoir Fermé (a deliciously unstylish Angst en walging aan de Belgische kust / Fear and Loathing at the Belgian Coast), the impact of Victory Boogie Woogie by Charles Pas, the absurdist experiential play Sens Interdit by Ruben Mardulier and Micha Goldberg and the wonderful dance solo by Femke Gyselinck (Erato) in BAR BROEK, the festival got off to a cracking start.
The second weekend was also a smash hit, with 3 x the dazzling Crashtest Ibsen Trilogy by Het Zuidelijke Toneel and Theaterproductiehuis Zeeland, the organic magic of Tuur Marinus' dance performance TH LNG GDBY, the hilariously dislocated performance by Kim Karssen (Don't rain on my paREET), the subdued poetry of Gilles Pollak's light play lightparticles, inc., and the salutary experience offered by Dimitri de Perrots IN THE MIDDLE OF SOMETHING. And then we got radiant weather on top of that! In the meantime, we are already starting to dream of the next edition....
